10/1/09 Sorry Kids, that's it for the season. You can still fish for trout in lakes until the end of this month and there's always a chance for a bass or some bluegills. Aaron Otto, a pretty terrific photographer as well as a wildly enthusiastic fly angler, came all the way from Arizona to fish for musky and had to remind me that this is the time of year when pike and musky get really active looking for a big meal. Check the website and you'll find a few folks who can get you into some adventurous fishing.

While you're at it, check out some of the offerings in our new approach to learning, Bob Mitchell's FLY FISH U. It's never too early to get a head start on knot tying, fly tying, casting rigging or any of that other fun stuff. Step on it; the next fishing season is sooner than you think.

11/4/09 A couple of unfortunate anglers went to the Lower Kinni on Sunday, October 25th to "practice" their fly casting and got pinched by the local Conservation Officer for their efforts. Apparently they were "practicing" with a fly attached to their leader. (?)
