Last night's heavy rain resulted in the predictable spike in stream flows. However, things aren't as bad as you might expect.

Upper Kinnickinnic River

Section: Upstream from River Falls

Water Flow:

a little on the high side

Water Temp:

mid 60's by late afternoon most days

Clarity

slightly stained

Hatches:

midges, really little mayflies, hatches are very light and sporadic

Suggested Patterns:

Partridge & Spaniel, PT nymphs

Additional Comments:

If you haven't started fishing terrestrials we'd strongly recommend adding some beetles and a few ants to your box.

Lower Kinnickinnic River

Section: Below the town of River Falls - downstream from the second dam.

Water Flow:

 somewhat high, currently 106 cfs

Water Temp:

upper 60's

Water Clarity:

stained

Hatches:

Plauditus, caddis, midges, Tricos

Suggested Patterns:

Bob's Trico Spinner, Bread & Butter Caddis

Rush River

Section: Martell to US 10

Water Flow:

might be high

Water Temp:

lower 60's

Water Clarity:

no information, but probably stained

Hatches:

blue wing olives, midges, Tricos

Suggested Patterns:

Bob's Trico Spinner, AK's Trico Dun, Pheasant Tails

Additional Comments:

Best guess is that the River is fishable.
